Delaware Earns 1-0 Victory Over Drexel on Senior Day

NEWARK, Del. – Delaware women's soccer earned a 1-0 victory over Drexel on Saturday afternoon at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium in the final Colonial Athletic Association matchup of the season for the Blue Hens.
The Blue Hens (3-4, 1-3 CAA) hosted Drexel in its first home match in two weeks. Drexel (3-4-1, 1-2-1 CAA) entered the game looking for its first win in the month of April.
After controlling the ball the majority of the first half, redshirt junior Gabby Johnson found the left post with ease in the 21st minute to guide the ball past the goalkeeper and give the Blue Hens the 1-0 edge. It was the second goal of the season for Johnson.
The Blue Hens took a one-point advantage into the break after leading the Dragons in shots, 6-1.
After halftime, it took a team effort to keep the Dragons off the scoreboard, but the Blue Hens were able to pull out the win at home and give the seniors the send off they deserve.
On offense, six Blue Hens attempted a shot this afternoon. The defense was solid on the day, slowing down the Dragons, as Lauren Krinsky recorded four saves.
Delaware finished with 12 shots while Drexel had four. The Blue Hens had six shots on goal to the Dragon's four. The Blue Hens had a huge advantage in corner kicks 8 to one.
