Hanna Garber Earns CAA Softball Player of the Week Award

RICHMOND, Va. – Blue Hen junior centerfielder Hanna Garber was named the Colonial Athletic Association Softball Player of the Week on Tuesday, her second conference honor in three weeks.
Garber, who was also selected CAA Co-Player of the Week on Mar. 30, batted .643 during UD's four games last week with team-highs of nine hits, seven runs scored, two triples and six RBI.
She went 2 for 4 with a run scored during last Monday's series finale vs. Drexel, and then had two hits including a grand slam while driving home five runs in Saturday's 10-4 win over Towson. She finished 4 for 4 with two triples in the 9-3 victory over the Tigers later that day, before adding a hit and two runs scored during Sunday's 17-2 triumph.
Garber currently ranks second in the CAA and 11th in the nation with a .484 batting average this season. She also leads the league with four triples, is tied for second with 30 hits, and is tied for third with 21 runs scored. Garber has hit safely in all but four games this spring, and has recorded nine multi-hit games on the year.
