Kitchen Named Tewaaraton Award Nominee

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Charlie Kitchen of the Delaware men's lacrosse team was named one of the 25 male Tewaaraton Award nominees on Thursday afternoon.
The Tewaaraton Award is recognized as the pre-eminent lacrosse award, annually honoring the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. The selection committees are comprised of premier college coaches and are appointed annually by the Tewaaraton Foundation.
Five men's and five women's finalists will be selected from these groups of 25, to be announced in three weeks at the conclusion of the regular season. Details on the 2021 Tewaaraton Award Winners announcement will be forthcoming in the next few weeks.Â

Kitchen has showed out in his final year with the Blue Hens, posting 43 points on 22 goals and 21 assists through eight games. He additionally has tallied 14 ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers. The Marlton, N.J., native leads the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) in assists, while sitting tied for second in points and fifth in goals scored. Â Â

His numbers have been near the top of the national leaderboards as well, as he currently ranks 10th in Division I in assists per game (2.62) and tied for seventh in points per game (5.38).
Kitchen and the Blue Hens will head on the road one final time during the 2021 regular season to take on Towson this Saturday at noon in Towson, Md. The Tigers have won three straight and four of their last five outings with a pair of wins over ranked opponents. Â
