Acchione Tabbed CAA Rookie of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Cam Acchione of the Delaware men's lacrosse team was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week on Tuesday.
It's the third time in his rookie campaign that Acchione received the weekly recognition. He becomes the first Delaware freshman since Tye Kurtz to be named the CAA Rookie of the Week three times in a single season.
Acchione had a career day in a 16-8 road win at Towson on Saturday. He shot a flawless 100 percent from the field by scoring a career-high five goals on five shot attempts opposite the Tigers.
It was the most goals scored by a Delaware freshman this season and Acchione's third collegiate hat trick. He is currently on a seven-game scoring streak.
Acchione and the Blue Hens will close out the 2021 regular season by welcoming CAA foe UMass to Delaware Stadium for a Friday night contest slated for 5 p.m. A win against the Minutemen will make Delaware the CAA regular season champions. Â Â
