Six Blue Hens Earn All-CAA Softball Honors; Hanna Garber Named to First Team

RICHMOND, Va. – Six Blue Hens earned All-CAA Softball honors while Hanna Garber was selected to the first team as the league announced its all-conference selections on Tuesday.
In addition to Garber's first team nod, Brooke Glanden, Brittney Mendoza and Emily Winburn were named to the second team. Winburn was also tabbed to the All-Rookie Team, along with freshmen Julz Garber and Lexi Moore.
Delaware's six all-conference honorees are the program's most since joining the CAA, while its three All-Rookie selections are tied for the most along with the 2014 season.
Hanna Garber, a junior centerfielder, has enjoyed an outstanding season for the Blue Hens as she leads the team with a .442 batting average and 38 hits to go with a CAA-best five triples. She has posted 11 multi-hit games on the year and batted .556 in conference games. Garber, who was a second team selection in 2019, becomes the 10th Blue Hen to earn first team All-CAA honors.
Glanden has started every game this season, all but one at first base, ranking second on the squad with a .400 batting average while leading UD with nine home runs. She is also second on the team with 34 hits and 30 RBI, while her 12 multi-hit games are the most on the Blue Hens.
Mendoza has started all 29 games at second base for Delaware, batting .352 on the year with team-highs of 32 RBI and 31 runs scored. Her 31 hits and six homers rank third on the squad, while she has recorded a team-best 10 multi-RBI games this spring.
Winburn has been the Blue Hens' ace in the circle, compiling a 12-2 record with a 2.69 earned run average. Her 12 wins are tied for the CAA lead, while she also ranks third in the league with 78 strikeouts and fifth in ERA. She set a UD record by winning her first 11 decisions of the year, and has fired shutouts against UAlbany, Drexel and Hofstra.
Julz Garber appeared in all but three games while making 20 starts in the Blue Hen outfield, batting .400 with 33 hits, 18 runs scored, six doubles and eight RBI during her freshman campaign. She has posted three-hit games against Drexel, Mount St. Mary's and St. John's this year.
Moore has started all but one game at third base for Delaware, hitting .316 while leading the team and ranking fourth in the CAA with 15 stolen bases. Her 30 hits tied for fourth on the squad, while her 22 runs scored are also the fourth highest on the team. Moore's 10 multi-hit games are third most for the Blue Hens, and she has recorded three-hit games at Penn and Hofstra.
