RICHMOND, Va. – Blue Hen junior Roberto Nieves has been named to the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Golf First Team as the league announced its all-conference honorees on Tuesday.
Nieves becomes the third UD men's golfer to earn first team All-CAA honors, along with Joe McLister in 2006 and Justin Martinson in 2011.
Nieves was the Blue Hens' low finisher in all six tournaments this spring, and placed among the top seven individuals in all but one invitational.
His 71.35 average round is the second lowest in program history, behind only his 70.65 average during the 2019-20 season. He tied for third place at the Golden Horseshoe Invitational with a two over par 212, a performance that earned him CAA Men's Golfer of the Week accolades.
Nieves carded four rounds in the 60's this spring, and is now the program's leader with 13 career rounds in the 60's. His 72.27 career average round is also currently the lowest in Blue Hen history.
