Albamonti, Manning Conclude Season at NCAA East Prelims

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Blue Hens wrapped up an impressive season at this week's NCAA East Preliminary's, held at the University of North Florida.
"I am extremely proud of Holly and Megan for their fierce effort to compete amongst some of the top track and field competitors in the country," said head coach Wendy McFarlane-Smith, "Also, kudos to our staff who share their in successes coaching them to this level."
On Thursday, Holly Manning qualified for the 800m quarterfinals with a time of 2:06.09 in her first round race and concluded her stellar season in the 800m quarterfinals on Saturday night. In the quarterfinals, Manning set a new school outdoor record and a personal best with her time of 2:04.82, good enough for a 16th place finish (of 24 runners).
Megan Albamonti wrapped up her record-breaking freshman campaign on Thursday in the javelin. Albamonti finished 26th (of 48 athletes) with the second-best throw of her career at 47.22m.
