Ayeni Receives CUSA All-Academic Honors

DALLAS - Throws athlete Olamide Ayeni from the University of Delaware track & field program was named to the Conference USA All-Academic team, the league announced on Friday. Ayeni became the first track & field athlete to receive all-academic honors from the conference.Â
At the Conference USA Outdoor Championships, Ayeni won the discus throw with a mark of 55.10 meters. The throw was a new personal best and ranks second all-time in program history. It was also tied for the 39th best mark in division I and ranks 21st in the east region. Her efforts earned her first team all-conference honors.
Ayeni went on to represent the Fightin' Blue Hens at the first round of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Lexington, Kentucky back on May 30.
