NEWARK, Del. – Delaware head men's lacrosse coach Ben DeLuca announced that Trey Wilkes has been promoted to assistant coach on Wednesday.
"Trey has been an integral part of our coaching staff for the past four years," DeLuca said. "He has worked tirelessly while learning, improving, evolving and earning more responsibilities along the way. I can't overstate the positive impact Trey has had on everyone affiliated with our program and how fortunate we are to have him representing Delaware lacrosse."
Wilkes' promotion comes after a historic season for the Blue Hens as they finished 10-3 overall and 7-1 in conference play en route to capturing the CAA regular season title for the first time in program history. Six Blue Hens received All-CAA honors, while Delaware ranked near the top of the CAA in most statistical categories.
Since joining the coaching staff in the fall of 2017 as a volunteer assistant, Wilkes has helped Delaware compile a 30-18 overall record. The Blue Hens have appeared in the conference tournament each season he has been with the program, excluding the 2020 campaign that was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
