Three Blue Hens Named GCAA Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-American Scholars

NORMAN, Okla. – Blue Hen men's golfers Michal Bargenda, Hugo Kedzlie and Roberto Nieves have been named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-American Scholars, the Golf Coaches Association of American (GCAA) announced Friday.
Bargenda, a computer science major from Motycz, Poland, competed in five of six tournaments for UD this spring, ranking third on the team with a 75.14 average round. He finished 13th at the Golfweek Spring Invitational at three under par, including a career-low 70 during the first round of the tournament.
Kedzlie, a philosophy major from Spalding, England, participated in all six tournaments for the Blue Hens, while his 74.35 average round ranked second on the squad. He tied for seventh place at the CAA Championship with a one under par, and also tied for seventh at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate.
Nieves, a psychology major from Miami, Fla., is the program's leader with a 72.27 career average round. A first team All-CAA selection this spring, Nieves was UD's top finisher in every tournament and placed among the top seven individuals in all but one invitational. He averaged 71.35 shots per round, the second lowest in program history behind only his 70.65 mark the previous year.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-American Scholar status, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically. In addition, they must participate in 40 percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0, and maintain a cumulative career grade point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
