Volleyball Match Preview: James Madison

» The Blue Hens enter the weekend matchup on a five-game home winning streak that dates back to the spring 2020 season.

» The weekend series against James Madison will mark the 62nd and 63rd all-time meetings between the two squads. The Dukes have claimed three of the previous four matchups, including the last two in Newark, Del.

» Delaware enters the weekend after spending three days competing in the Kansas Invitational from Sept. 9-11. The Blue Hens took both Kent State and Wichita State to five sets.

» James Madison played a pair of matches last week against VCU and No. 4 Ohio state. The Dukes went 1-1, defeating VCU in four sets before falling in straight sets to the nationally ranked Buckeyes.

» Junior outside hitter Lani Mason has led the Blue Hens' attack with 97 kills, while Savannah Seemans ranks second with 88. Seemans currently sits tied for third in Division I in total aces with 23.

Consistent with how we are protecting UD students, faculty and staff, we are requiring all attendees at our home volleyball matches, ages 12 and older, to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative PCR coronavirus test taken within 72 hours of the event. "Full vaccination" means that guests have received their final COVID-19 vaccine dose at least 14 days in advance of the day of the game. Authentic proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test will be accepted as long as the test was taken within 72 hours of the day of the game through a medical or accredited company; please note that "at home tests" will not be accepted.

Guests can present a paper copy of their vaccination card or negative test results at the entry gate, OR show an electronic copy of their vaccination card or negative test results on their smart phones. Adults will also need to show valid identification matching the vaccination card/test results.
