A Trio of Blue Hens Recognized by Inside Lacrosse

NEWARK, Del. – A trio of Blue Hens earned Inside Lacrosse Preseason Media All-America recognition, announced today by the national publication.
Delaware led all Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) schools with three honorees. Defenseman Owen Grant led the way with second-team honors, while attackman Mike Robinson and midfielder Tye Kurtz received honorable mention nods.
The Blue Hens are the defending CAA Regular Season Champions, after recording a 7-1 mark in league play last season.
Grant, a senior, is the reigning CAA Defensive Player of the Year. He started 11 games and ranked third in the nation with 2.36 caused turnovers per game. Grant tallied a team-best 26 caused turnovers, tying the single-season program record. He ranked third on the squad with 42 ground balls while scoring three goals and dishing out an assist during his junior campaign.
Kurtz, an All-CAA Second Team selection last season, started 11 games for Delaware in 2021. Kurtz tallied 48 points on 26 goals and 22 assists. The senior finished third on the team in points and goals, while ranking second in assists. Kurtz ranked third in the CAA and 24th in Division I in assists per game (2.00). He became the 35th player in program history to eclipse the 100-career point mark.
Robinson is coming off a stellar 2021 season that saw him earn All-CAA First Team honors and CAA Freshman of the Year distinction. He started 12 games, where he recorded 51 points on 43 goals and eight assists along with 45 ground balls and three caused turnovers. Robinson, a junior, led the CAA and ranked third nationally in goals per game (3.58) and tied for the CAA lead in goals scored. He finished fifth in the CAA and 24th in Division I in points per game (4.25).
