Volleyball Match Preview: Stony Brook

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware volleyball team is set to resume their hosting duties against its newest conference foe Stony Brook in a CAA weekend series Saturday, Oct. 15 and Sunday Oct. 16 inside Bob Carpenter Center.

What You Need to Know:

This will be the third meeting between Delaware and Stony Brook, both holding a 1-1 all-time record.
Delaware will enter the series undefeated in Newark over Stony Brook dating back to Sept. 24, 1999, capturing a five-set victory. The most recent time the Blue Hens and the Seawolves met was in Stony Brook, N.Y., where the Seawolves prevailed with a straight-set victory on Sept. 15, 2018.
The last time the Blue Hens was out was against the three-time defending champions Towson last weekend. Delaware suffered the two-match skid, snapping their winning streak to nine matches.
Stony Brook hosted Hampton last weekend where the Seawolves captured a four-set followed by a straight-set victory over the Pirates, extending their winning streak to three matches.
The statline vs. Towson (Sunday): Lani Mason pace Delaware with 13 kills, four digs and two blocks while Lily Rogers dished out 22 assists. Pearce Augier chipped in three blocks.
Mason leads the nation in kills per set (5.45) while ranking third in points per set (5.93), ninth in total kills (316), 11th in points (344.0) and 12th in attacks per set (12.00). Rogers ranks 12th in triple doubles (1).
