Sara D'Appolonia - "What about being a Blue Hen will you remember the most?"
What I will remember the most about being a Blue Hen is how it has inspired me to be the best version of myself both on and off the field, day in and day out. During my time at UD, I have created memories that will last me a life time and been a part of an amazing family and community. I have had the privilege to lead, grow, dream and inspire. Thank you, Delaware.
Claudia Benz - "How has being a Blue Hen positively impacted your life?"
Being a Blue Hen has taught me dedication, determination and dependability. These are our non-negotiables that will not only impact my career on the field, but for the rest of my life. These qualities are what it means to be a Blue Hen. Lastly, this experience has taught me what it means to be apart of a family. Through thick and thin, wins, losses, hardships and victory. Love my Blue Hen Family!
Nicole Binkley - "What's been one of your most memorable moments as a Blue Hen?"
Although my time as a blue hen has been short, it has brought me the most amazing opportunities. One of my most memorable moments was having the opportunity to play in front of my grandpa for the first time ever in Charleston. Seeing the pride on his face when he watched me perform was so special and meant the absolute most to me.
Emily McNesby - "What's been one of your most memorable moments as a Blue Hen?
In the short time I've had as a Blue Hen, one of my most memorable moments was the day before we played College of Charleston. Sara's dad had us all over for a big dinner and before we ate, we all went to the beach and spent a lot of time in the ocean. Everyone was having so much fun and it was exactly what we all needed in that moment. It was truly such a happy evening!
Zoe Smith - "How has being a Blue Hen positively impacted your life?"
Being a blue hen has led me to new states, new journeys, new friends, and new memories.
Taking the leap of faith to transfer to a school in a part of the US that I’ve never been to before was at scary decision, but it has paid off in many invaluable ways. I’m grateful to be apart of two great programs as a blue hen; both the soccer program and the mechanical engineering program. Both have given me many great experiences as well as life lessons and tools. I will always be proud to be a blue hen.
