Men's Soccer Defeated By No. 8 Maryland

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Delaware's men's soccer team was defeated by No. 8 nationally ranked Maryland, 3-0, on Tuesday at Ludwig Field in their final road game of the season. Orri Thorhallsson highlighted Delaware as he scored his fourth goal of the season during the second half.Â
Maryland's (9-2-4) Griffin Dillon scored the game's first goal during the 14th minute. Stefan Copetti then scored in the 24th minute and Justin Harris scored in the 34th minute to give the Terrapins a 3-0 lead at halftime.Â
The Blue Hens (4-10-2) played Maryland more evenly in the second half. Thorhallsson got Delaware on the board with his fourth goal of the season during the 86th minute. Thorhallsson has now scored three goals in his last four games and all four of his goals this season have come in Delaware's last seven games. The Blue Hens have also scored a goal in eight consecutive games, their longest streak during a single-season since scoring in nine consecutive games in 2016. Mack DeVires scored during the 88th minute for Maryland to help seal the win for the Terrapins. Delaware outshot Maryland, 5-3, in the second half.Â
 Delaware plays Northeastern on Saturday in the regular season finale, needing a win for a chance to play in the CAA Conference Tournament.
