Simeon Sabev Earns First Weekly CAA Honor

RICHMOND, Va. - Simeon Sabev was tabbed CAA Co-Swimmer of the Week, announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.Â
Sabev added his name to the Delaware record book with first-place efforts in the 100 fly and 200 fly at Towson last Saturday. The sophomore won the 200 fly with a time of 1:49.29, which was the second-fastest in program history. He followed with a winning time of 48.75 in the 100 fly, which was the third-fastest ever at UD.
This marks his first weekly award with the conference. The Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, native earned All-CAA Honors at the 2021 conference championship meet after placing third in the 400 Medley Relay, setting a school record with a time of 3:15.75.
The Blue Hens are back in action Saturday, hosting the Last Chance Meet beginning at 11 a.m., before hitting the road for the CAA Championships in Christiansburg, Va., starting Feb. 16.Â
