Softball’s Weekend Finale vs. Indiana State Canceled

DELAND, Fla. – The University of Delaware softball team's Sunday game against Indiana State has been canceled due to unplayable field conditions at Stetson. The cancellation means that UD finishes its season-opening weekend at the Stetson Lead-Off Tournament with a 3-1 record.
The Blue Hens won its first three games of the weekend with a 4-3 victory over Indiana State on Friday morning before defeating the host Hatters 3-1 on Friday evening. The Blue & Gold came back on Saturday and beat Georgia State 4-1. Stetson handed UD its first loss of the season, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon.
Halle Kisamore and Brooke Glanden led the Blue Hens with five hits apiece, while Glanden hit three home runs and Kisamore hit two. Glanden led the offense with six RBI and four runs scored.
Emily Winburn, Graceyn Frost and Kailey Christian all picked up wins in the circle, while Frost and Megan Stauffer each registered a save. Frost led the staff with nine strikeouts win 10.0 innings pitched and Winburn had seven strikeouts.
Delaware will return to action next weekend when the squad travels to Georgia for the Red and Black Showcase. The Blue Hens will play both Purdue and Boston University twice and will play a contest against the host Bulldogs.
