Grant Jr. Inducted Into Pro Lacrosse Hall of Fame

His name is etched in lacrosse history. A household name. Delaware men's lacrosse alum John Grant Jr. was inducted into the inaugural Pro Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
Grant Jr. played for the Blue Hens for two seasons in 1998 and 1999, where he established himself as one of the most exciting and successful athletes in school history and remains one of the top professional lacrosse players in the world.
A dominating offensive player with a combination of strength, speed, and a blazing shot, Grant Jr. registered 81 goals and 96 assists for 177 points in just 32 career games for the Blue Hens under coach Bob Shillinglaw.
A native of Ontario, Canada, Grant Jr. was a two-time USILA All-American, earning first-team accolades as a senior in 1999 when he led all NCAA Division I players with 110 points and was named the winner of the prestigious Enner Award as the USILA National Player of the Year and was awarded the Jack Turnbull Award as National Attackman of the Year.
He led Delaware to its best season in school history in 1999 when the Blue Hens went 14-3 and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals.
A 2000 graduate of Delaware, John moved on to an All-Star career with professional indoor and outdoor teams and was one of the world's most recognized players in the sport for 20 years.
Grant was inducted into the Delaware Athletics Hall of Fame in 2005 and the NJCAA Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2010.
He was the No. 1 overall pick in the draft by Rochester in the 1999 National Lacrosse League Draft. Grant Jr. competed in the NLL, Major League Lacrosse, and Ontario Lacrosse Association.
Grant Jr. won five MLL Championships as a player with the Rochester Rattlers, Toronto Nationals, Chesapeake Bayhawks, and Denver Outlaws. He also won a championship as a coach with the Outlaws.
As a pro, Grant Jr. recorded 643 points, 393 goals, 232 assists, 3.76 points per game, 2.30 goals per game, and 1.36 assists per game. Grant Jr. has won numerous awards, including MLL Most Valuable Player in 2007 and 2008 and NLL Most Valuable Player in 2007 and 2012,
Grant currently serves as the offensive coordinator at Johns Hopkins.
