McDaniel Earns CAA Rookie of the Week Honors

RICHMOND, Va. - Freshman Delaney McDaniel earned Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week honors, announced by the conference office Monday.Â
The Severna Park, Md., native had a game-high five points in Delaware's 14-9 win against La Salle (Feb. 23). McDaniel scored two goals and dished out three assists in the win. She scored her first collegiate goal to give the Blue Hens a 5-4 lead in the second quarter and then assisted the game-winning goal to Lizzie Hsu in the third quarter.
McDaniel currently leads Delaware in points (8) and assists (6), while also leading the conference with 2.00 assists per game. She is the first Delaware freshman to receive CAA Rookie of the Week honors since the 2017 season.Â
The women's lacrosse team travels to College Park, Md., tomorrow to play No. 4 Maryland for a road game at 5 p.m.
