Dickey Named #CAAHoops Player of the Week

RICHMOND, VA. – After pouring in 76 points in consecutive games, the third-highest mark in program history, the University of Delaware women's basketball senior guard/forward Jasmine Dickey was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Week, announced by league officials Monday afternoon. This is Dickey's third weekly distinction this season.
In Delaware's undefeated week (2-0), Dickey averaged 38.0 points, 17.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per contest while shooting 42.5 percent (23-of-54) from the field, 60 percent (3-of-5) from three-point territory and 90 percent (27-of-30) from the free-throw line.
Opening the week against Charleston (Feb. 4), Dickey exploded for a career-high mark of 52 points and tied her career-high 18 rebounds (10 offensive) to lead Delaware to a 103-79 win. She also added four assists three steals and a block to her stat line. With her 52-point performance, Dickey set a new Bob Carpenter Center record and sits comfortably in history books second in points scored in a single game. She became the first player to record 52 points and 18 rebounds against a NCAA DI opponent since 2009-10 and is the only player in NCAA DI to post a 40+ and 50+ point performance this season. Dickey's career evening landed her a spot on ESPN SportsCenter Top 10 plays in the #10 slot.
Dickey then closed out the week against UNCW (Feb. 6) with 24 points (14-of-16 FT) and 16 rebounds to post her third-straight double-double (ninth on the season) in the Blue Hens' 77-62 win. Dickey rewrote the history books again as she surpassed her previous teammate Nicole Enabosi's 1,676 career-points mark to sit in second place with 1,680 career points. She added an assist and a steal to her stat line to help Delaware extend their winning streak to five games.
On the season, the Baltimore, Md. native is averaging 25.4 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.1 blocks per game while shooting 40 percent (171-of-428) from the field and 80.5 percent (124-of-154) from the charity stripe. Dickey leads the conference in points per game and total points (482) while ranking among the league leaders in rebounds per game (3rd), minutes per game (3rd, 35.6), rebounds (4th, 180), defensive rebounds per game (4th, 5.9), free throw percentage (4th), blocked shots (4th, 21), offensive rebounds per game (5th, 3.5), blocked shots per game (5th), defensive rebounds (6th, 113), offensive rebounds (6th, 67), steals per game (t-8th), field goal percentage (10th), and steals (t-10th, 31). Dickey leads the nation in field goal attempts and ranks among the top 10 national leaders in points per game (2nd), free throw attempts (4th), free throws made (5th), final points (5th) and field goals made (7th).
