Etxezarreta, Blue Hens Lead After First Day of Kingsmill Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Delaware holds a nine-shot lead in the team standings while Oihana Etxezarreta leads all individuals following Monday's opening two rounds of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate.
The Blue Hens posted team rounds of 302 and 306 to sit in first place out of 14 squads with a 608 total. Tournament host William & Mary is second with a 617 score, while Richmond is third at 618.
Etxezarreta finished the day with a two under par 72-70=142 on the par 72, 5,974-yard River Course at Kingsmill Resort. She recorded three birdies in her opening round, and added three more while making just one bogey during her second round of the day.
Etxezarreta holds a four-shot lead over Emma Lu of William & Mary, who sits in second place at two over par.
Alisa Khokhlova is tied for sixth place at the invitational with a seven over par 76-75=151, while Liz Coffren is 13th with a 10 over par 80-74=154. Christina Carroll fired a 13 over par 75-82=157 to end the day in a tie for 21st place, while Anna Kittelson carded a 14 over par 76-82=158 and is tied for 29th place.
Lene Sperling (84-76=160) and Lexi Dart (81-79=160) are both tied for 36th place at 16 over par, while Lilia Henkel is tied for 56th place with a 21 over par 79-86=165.
The final round of the tournament will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday.
