Pair of Blue Hens Rewrite Track & Field's Record Books at Kutztown Mondschein Multis

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The University of Delaware track and field team competed at the two-day Kutztown Mondschein Multis meetin, hosted by Kutztown University (Apr. 13-14) from Andre Reed Stadium in Kutztown, Pa. The Blue Hens pair of Destiny DeBlock and Mayson Light rewrote the program's history book after competing in the heptathlon event.
Headlining the heptathlon with fourth place overall finish, a personal best and a mark that sits fifth in UD history with 4315 points was DeBlock. DeBlock captured victory in the high jump (1.63m), while taking third place in the 100m hurdles (15.55), shot put (9.67m) and long jump (5.04m), fourth in the 200m dash (27.46), sixth in the 800m run (2:35.12) and seventh in the javelin throw (25.50m).
Light followed a seventh place finish in the heptathlon with a personal best 3698 points, a mark that sits 10th in program history. Light finished in sixth place in the high jump (1.51m), seventh in the shot put (9.14m) and 800m run (2:36.16), eighth in the 200m dash (28.30), javelin throw (23.66m) and long jump (4.75m) and ninth in the 100m hurdles (17.71).

The Blue Hens will return to action Saturday, Apr. 16 at the Larry Ellis Invite, hosted by Princeton University from Weaver Stadium in Princeton, N.J.
