Delaware Finishes Second at CAA Women’s Golf Championship

SOUTHPORT, N.C. – The Delaware women's golf team concluded its 2021-22 season this weekend by finishing in second place at the CAA Championship.
The Blue Hens recorded a 297 team score during Sunday's final round to finish second out of seven teams with an 895 total. Charleston claimed the title with an 884 score and will advance to the NCAA Championships.
Delaware has now finished first or second in five of the last six conference championships.
Christina Carroll fired a five over par 77 during her final round on the par 72, 5,998-yard Reserve Course at St. James, finishing third among individuals with a five over par 76-68-77=221. Viktoria Hund of Charleston won the title with an even par 216, while her teammate Emma Schimpf finished in second place two shots back.
Lexi Dart carded a career-low 70 on Sunday, moving up to fifth place with an eight over par 78-76-70=224. Dart recorded birdies on the third, ninth, 13th and 17th holes while making just one bogey on the day.
Lene Sperling was the third Blue Hen to place among the top 10 individuals as she tied for ninth place with a 10 over par 79-72-75=226.
Alisa Khokhlova tied for 17th place with a 14 over par 81-74-75=230, while Oihana Etxezarreta tied for 26th place with an 18 over par 76-75-83=234.
