CAA Weekly Honors for Kurtz After 8 Goal Performance

RICHMOND, Va. – Delaware men's lacrosse senior attacker Tye Kurtz has been named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Week this season, announced Monday by the league office.
Kurtz had a spectacular day as he ignited the flame that led Delaware past Drexel for a 16-15 victory on Saturday. Kurtz recorded a career-high eight goals and added one assist for nine points in the win. Less than 13 minutes into the game Kurtz had a hat trick. He scored at least one goal in every period, including five of his goals coming unassisted. He shot .769 from the field and added one groundball. His nine-point outing is tied for the league-high in a single game this spring. Kurtz' eight goals are the most scored in the CAA this season and match the second-most in a single game in league history.
The accolade is the fourth player of the week honor of Kurtz' career and the first this season for the Puslinch, Ontario native. Kurtz is the fourth Blue Hen to earn a CAA weekly honor this season as Delaware has been honored seven times in 2022.
