Track & Field Competes at Historic Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Delaware track and field team competed at the 126th Penn Relays Thursday, Apr. 28 and Friday, Apr. 29 from Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pa. Slated to compete in three events, the Blue Hens shined in the 4x100 relay by setting a season-best time.
Tina Capparell kicked off the meet on Thursday by competing in the 3000m Steeplechase where she captured 16th place after clocking a time of 10:37.88.
On Friday, the 4x100 relay team, Trinity Tapper, Shylehn Ebuenga-Smith, Kamylin Padgham and Aja Davis, finished in second place with a season-best time of 46.35 to qualify for Saturday's final.
The 4x400 relay team consisting of Marie-Frederique Poulin, Alicia Lehman, Jessica Harding and Alyssa Armor closed out the afternoon by crossing the finish line with a time of 3:56.90, good enough to finish in 22nd place.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Blue Hens will return to action next weekend (May 6-7) for the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Northeastern University from Solomon Track in Dedham, Mass.
