Roberto Nieves Shoots Even Par at NCAA New Haven Regional

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Blue Hen senior Roberto Nieves carded an even par 70 during his second round of the NCAA New Haven Regional on Tuesday.
Nieves, who improved seven shots from his opening round 77, is tied for 60th place among individuals with a seven over par 147 on the par 70, 6,409-yard Yale Golf Course.
Nieves was one over through two holes on Tuesday but responded to birdie four of the next five holes and move to three under for the day. After falling back to one over, he birdied 16 and 17 before ending his round with a bogey on 18.
Wake Forest leads the 14-team field with a 539 score, while North Carolina is just one shot back. The Tar Heels' Ryan Gerard holds the individual lead at 10 under par, while his teammate Austin Greaser sits in second place at nine under.
The final day of the regional will take place on Wednesday.
