NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware Softball Head Coach Jen Steele has announced the addition of pitcher Taylor Wroten to the program. Wroten, a transfer from Indian River State College, will join the Blue Hens this fall.
A two-way player at Indian River, Wroten put up strong numbers both in the circle as well as at the plate. She batted .310 in 229 career at-bats, registering 71 hits, including 16 doubles, and 51 RBI. A threat on the base paths, Wroten scored 61 runs and stole 25 bases. The Greenwood, Delaware native was dynamic in the circle, going 23-5 over her two seasons with a 1.47 ERA in 166.1 innings. She struck out 133 batters while walking just 50.
Taylor will provide us with much-needed depth in our bullpen. She is an athletic pitcher and can help us win in a bunch of different ways. I can’t wait to get her on campus and start training with her this fall.Head Coach Jen Steele
