Women's Lacrosse Adds a Pair of Transfers
NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware women's lacrosse head coach Amy Altig has added a pair of transfers to her roster for the upcoming season. Laurel McHale and Megan Bozzi specialize at the attack position and will add to a Blue Hen roster that advanced to the Colonial Athletics Association (CAA) Tournament this past spring.
"We are thrilled to welcome Megan Bozzi and Laurel McHale to our Blue Hen Family!," said Altig. "Their playing experience, high academic integrity, and amazing character make them great additions to our program. Both Megan and Laurel bring a wealth of on-field experience through their time at their previous institutions. Their impact as members of our team will be felt immediately through their leadership ability and great personalities. Laurel continues the McHale family Delaware line and we are excited that she will finish her collegiate career as a Blue Hen just like her parents did."
A native of Linwood, N.J., Bozzi comes to Delaware after playing at Coastal Carolina since 2019. During her time with Coastal Carolina, she appeared in 48 games and made 27 starts. She registered 57 goals and 28 assists for 85 points during her career at Coastal Carolina with a .786 shots on goal percentage. Academically, Bozzi has earned a spot on the President's List (4.0 GPA) every semester and has earned numerous ASUN Academic Honor Roll recognition. Bozzi tallied a Mainland Regional High School record with 335 career goals. While at Mainland, she helped lead the squad to a 49-27 record in her four-year high school career.
McHale arrives in Newark after competing for Bucknell last season. The sister of current Blue Hen, Jenna McHale, Laurel appeared in 15 games with 11 starts in 2022, as she scored 22 goals and recorded 12 assists for 34 points. During her time at Bucknell, she appeared in 43 games with 18 starts.
