Volleyball Match Preview: Temple & Seton Hall

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware volleyball team will open the 2022 campaign on the road at the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn's Landing Cherry & White Challenge hosted by Temple University. The Blue Hens will open against the hosts on Friday, Aug. 26 at 7 p.m. and close out the two-day tournament Saturday, Aug. 27 at 5 p.m. against Seton Hall.

What You Need to Know:

Delaware will take on Temple for the third-straight time in three seasons. Delaware won the last meeting inside McGonigle Hall, 3-1, on Aug 27, 2021.
Temple leads the all-time series, 27-23, dating back 1974. The Blue Hens went 7-3 in the last 10 matchups with the Owls.
The last time Delaware and Seton Hall met was during the 2009 season where the Blue Hens captured the 3-2 home victory on Sept. 23. Both teams hold a 4-4 all-time record with UD currently on a four-game winning streak.
Temple and Seton Hall will open their 2022 season against on another at 12 p.m. on Friday (Aug. 26)
The Blue Hens return five starters, including first team All-CAA selection Lani Mason and second team All-CAA honorees Ezgi Basaranlar and Lauryn Richardson.
First-year head coach Kimberly Lambert's peers selected the Blue Hens to finish fourth in the conference with 68 points, as part of the 2022 CAA Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Mason earned a spot on the Preseason All-CAA Team while Basaranlar earned an honorable mention nod.
