NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware volleyball team returns to campus Wednesday, Aug. 31 for their home opener against George Washington at 5 p.m.

What You Need to Know:
- This will be the 15th time both Delaware and George Washington will be meeting ever. The Colonials hold a 10-4 all-time record while the Blue Hens are 3-2 on their home court.
- Delaware will enter Wednesday's match with an 0-2 record after falling to Temple (Aug. 26) in five sets in the season opener and dropping a 3-1 decision to Seton Hall (Aug. 27) as part of Temple's 2022 Hilton Philadelphia at Penn's Landing Cherry and White Challenge.
- With their impressive performance at the tournament, Eileen Gex and Savannah Seemans were both named to the All-Tournament Team.
- George Washington competed in the DC Challenge last weekend where the Colonials suffered a 3-0 loss to New Orleans in their season-opener (Aug. 26) and then fell in four sets to American on Aug. 27.
- The last time Delaware and George Washington met was on Sept. 15, 2017, where the Colonials prevailed with a five-set victory on their home floor. The Blue Hens captured victory on their home court back on Sept. 11, 2004 with a four-set win.
- Both teams will be looking to notch their first win on the young season with Delaware hoping to do so in front of the home crowd inside Bob Carpenter Center.
