Casper Nerpin Named CAA Men’s Golfer of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Delaware freshman Casper Nerpin has been named Colonial Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week following his impressive performance at the season-opening Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate.
Nerpin, playing in his first collegiate tournament, was the Blue Hens' top finisher as he tied for fifth place among individuals with a two under par 70-70-74=214 on the par 72, 6,882-yard Kaluhyat Course at Turning Stone Resort.
Nerpin recorded five birdies during his opening round on Sunday before adding seven during his second round of the day, including three straight to open the round and three straight to close the round. He then recorded four birdies during the tournament's final round on Monday.
Nerpin helped lead the Blue Hens to a third place team finish out of 11 squads, as UD posted three sub-300 rounds to finish with an 872 total.
Nerpin and the Blue Hens return to the course Sunday through Tuesday when they compete in the Golfweek Fall Challenge at Pawleys Island, S.C.
