University of Delaware Baseball Program Announces 2024 Schedule

NEWARK, Del. - The University of Delaware baseball program announced its 2024 schedule on Friday, Nov. 10.

The Blue Hens are led by second year head coach Greg Mamula. They finished 30-29 (17-13 in conference play) and made an appearance in the Coastal Athletic Association tournament for the first time since 2018.

The 2024 season begins with two road series in Jacksonville, Fla. starting with North Florida from Feb. 16-18, followed by Jacksonville University from Feb. 23-25.

In between those two-road series in Florida, UD will host its first two games of the season at Bob Hannah Stadium against Delaware State on Feb. 20 and Lehigh on Feb. 27.

Following the home game against Lehigh, Delaware hosts three straight non-conference series, starting with Lafayette from March 1-3, Quinnipiac from March 8-10, and finishing with a series against Big Ten foe Rutgers from March 15-17.

The Scarlet Knights won't be the only Big Ten team the Blue Hens will face this year, as they will have a road game (March 5) and a home game (April 16) against Maryland. The Blue Hens will also host Big East foe Georgetown on March 13.

After a road game against George Washington on March 19, the Blue Hens start CAA play with a road series against conference newcomers Campbell from March 22-24. The Camels won back-to-back Big South tournament championships before making the move to the CAA, and boast a 87-34 record over the past two years.

The Blue Hens will also play Hofstra (April 5-7), North Carolina A&T (April 19-21), Towson (April 26-28) and Stony Brook (May 10-12) on the road. UD hosts conference series against William & Mary (March 29-31), Northeastern (April 12-14), Monmouth (May 3-5), and close the regular season against UNCW (May 16-18).

In between their conference series, the Blue Hens will play non-conference games against St. Joe's on the road on April 9, at home on April 24, as well as a home contest against Geroge Washington on April 30.

The Blue Hens will compete in the Liberty Bell Classic. The series starts on March 26 with a road game against Penn. Round two will either be against St. Joe's or Lafayette on April 2 on the road. The Liberty Bell Classic Championship game will take place on April 23 at Citizens Bank Park. UD played against Rider in the championship game last season.

The CAA Tournament will take place from May 22-25 in Wilmington, N.C. with the NCAA Regionals taking place from March 31-June 2.
