Women’s Basketball Announces Class Of 2028 Signing Class

Throughout the 2022-23 season, Johnson displayed her exceptional skills on the court, making significant contributions in 29 games with impressive averages of 12.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game for the Cougars. Beyond her athletic achievements, she excelled academically as an honor roll student and earned recognition as an All-State Second Team selection during her high school tenure. Hailing from Levittown, Pa., she shared the court with freshman Grace Sundback as part of the AAU team, New Heights NYC. Johnson's future ambitions align with Sports Management, a field she intends to pursue upon her arrival in Newark.I am overjoyed to welcome Gigi into our illustrious Blue Hen family!," said Jenkins. Over three seasons and across 78 games, Vance demonstrated her impressive performance on the court, maintaining consistent averages of 12.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. Notably, in the past year, the Waterloo, S.C. native stood out, securing a position within the top 338 nationally and ranking in the top seven within South Carolina for three-point field goals—an impressive testament to her sharp shooting skills.
Vance's exceptional performance on the court earned her a slew of prestigious accolades:

- MVP of the 2023 national tournament
- 3x Female Player of the Year (2021-23)
- 1,000-point scorer and 3x Offensive Player of the Year (2021-23)

- Played at iconic venues like Ruckers Park with Team Curry and competed in the Under Armour and Adidas circuits

Continuing to refine her skills, Vance remains dedicated to her craft while playing for the Upward 3SSB AAU team. Her intended major, Entrepreneurship/Business, speaks volumes about her ambition once she steps onto campus.
I chose the University of Delaware because they made me feel like it was a home away from home," said Vance. "As soon as I stepped foot on campus, the coaches and players welcomed me with open arms and made me feel at home. Coach Jenkins and her coaching staff has a incredible vision for the program and I can't wait to get there and win as a Blue Hen.
