NASSAU, Bahamas – A 56-point second half by George Washington (5-1) was too much for the University of Delaware men's basketball team (4-2) Sunday evening as the Blue Hens surrendered a 16-point lead to fall 81-71.

Jyáre Davis scored a team-high 23 points and added nine rebounds.
Gerald Drumgoole Jr. (12), Cavan Reilly (11), and Christian Ray (10) each tallied double figure point totals.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Delaware jumped out to a 12-6 advantage up to the first break with 15:20 on the clock. The Hens continued to put pressure on the GW defense, holding a 29-19 lead at the eight-minute mark while shooting at a 56-percent rate. UD would end the half holding the Revolutionaries to 1-for-10 from the field to lead 38-25.
GW opened the second half with eight-straight points over the first 2:34 to close the gap to five. Delaware would grow the lead to nine on three different occasions, but at the 7:59 mark it was a 58-53 margin. A 17-4 advantage by the Revolutionaries erased the deficit and put them up 70-64 with 3:07 remaining. The late surge was too much for the Hens to formulate a comeback.

Delaware will head to Ohio to begin the month of December with an afternoon game on Saturday.
