Ohio’s Second-Half Surge Too Much for Men’s Basketball

ATHENS, Ohio – A second-half surge by Ohio on Saturday proved to be too much for the University of Delaware men's basketball team as it fell 74-73. The Blue Hens drop to 5-3 on the season, while the Bobcats advance to 5-2.

- Jyáre Davis led the team with 17 points. He added nine rebounds and two assists.
- Christian Ray also neared a double-double with a game-high 12 rebounds and nine points.
- Gerald Drumgoole Jr. tallied 10 points and seven boards. He had a team-high three assists.
- Niels Lane (9) and Cavan Reilly (8) rounded out the top scorers for UD.
- After trading the first few baskets, the home team would pull ahead by three, before a 7-2 spurt for the Hens sent the game into the under-12 media timeout with UD on top, 16-14. After a 16-16 tie, Delaware owned an 11-4 margin over 3:09 to take its largest lead thus far at 27-20 with 7:28 left in the first. The Blue & Gold would go ahead by as many as 10, but held a 36-28 lead at the intermission.
- Delaware would build the second-half lead to double figures on six different occasions, however the Bobcats overcame the deficit 23-13 advantage over the final 10:40 to pull ahead. The Hens had an opportunity for. pair of game-winning shots, but could not convert.
Delaware will stay in Ohio and head to Cincinnati for a matchup with Xavier.
