Softball Announces Class Of 2028 Signing Class

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware softball announced the addition of three signees on Wednesday as part of National Signing Day. The three student-athletes will join the Blue Hens as members of the Delaware Class of 2028.
Josie Crossman
Pitcher
Cumming, Ga. / South Forsyth High School
"Josie is an athletic, crafty pitcher who is going to make a big impact in the circle. She has garnered multiple individual accolades and plays on a premier national team, facing some of the best competition in the country. She gives us another look from the left side and will help us continue our quest to have the most dominant pitching staff in the CAA."
At South Forsyth High School, Crossman was the 2022 county and region Pitcher of the Year, the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year, and is an All-State selection, two-time All-Region and All-County honoree, three-time All-Academic Team selection. She is also a state qualifier and all-county selection in track and field, a sectional qualifier and region runner-up in the triple jump, and triple jump county champion. She also competed in flag football and basketball. Crossman helped her softball team to two region championships, going undefeated in 2022. She is the first South Forsyth High School athlete to be named to four sports in a single year. She also competes for Exra Innings Elite 100.
Sorella Gallucci
Infield
Robbinsville, N.J. / Robbinsville High School
"Sorella is a versatile infielder who is capable of playing multiple positions on the field. She has competitive size, speed, and strength. She comes from an athletic family and understands the commitment necessary to make an impact at this level."
At Robbinsville High School, she was named CVC All-Conference First-Team and Defensive MVP in 2023, and New Jersey All-Area Second-Team selection in 2022. She also helped her team to the New Jersey Group 2 State Championship. She has an overall career batting average of .321 and slugging percentage of .524. She also has competed for Jersey Outlaws Gold 18U and Lady Dukes Gold Gaskill.Â
Ellie Talley
Middle Infield
Cosby, Va. / Cosby High School
"Ellie is a dynamic infielder whose mentality gives her a competitive edge. She is going to impact us on both sides of the ball and raise our overall work rate. I'm looking forward to adding her tough nose, gritty approach into our program."Â
At Cosby High School, Talley is a three-time All-Metro selection and was a 2023 All-State and All-Region selection. She helped her team to the 2021 6A State Championship and two 6A Region Championships. For her career, she has hit .438 with four home runs, and a .992 fielding percentage. She has also competed in basketball, serving as team captain.Â
