Men’s Basketball Returns to The Bob After Eight-Straight Games Away

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's basketball team returns home to the Bob Carpenter Center for the first time since Nov. 12 as the Blue Hens host Rider on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m.

- The Blue Hens come off a dominant 67-56 win over Rhode Island this past Saturday.
- Jyáre Davis continued his dominance as he put up a season-high 26 points on 10-of-15 from the field, including 3-for-5 from beyond the arc. It was his fifth-straight game with 17 or more points and ninth overall of 16 or more.
- Delaware's win over URI was the team's third in a row as UD looks to push the streak to four straight for the second such streak this season.
- Davis earned this week's CAA Player of the Week after averaging 21.5 points, 5.5 boards, 3.0 steals, 3.0 assists, and 1.0 block in UD's wins against both RMU and URI.
- Davis joins Jalun Trent as the two Blue Hens to be tabbed CAA Player of the Week so far this season.
- The Blue Hens were ranked No. 23 in the latest College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 and came in at No. 93 in the latest NET Rankings.
- The Hens are one of three teams in the nation with six wins away from home this season.
- Rider enters Wednesday's game with a 2-8 overall record.
- The Broncs most recently come off a 77-71 loss to Monmouth this past Saturday.
- Rider topped DIII Immaculata 113-67 and Stonehill 73-56 for its two wins on the year.
- Redshirt senior Mervin James leads the Broncs in both points per game (18.5) and rebounds per game (7.1).
- As a team, Rider averages 70.0 points per game and allows 74.9 for a -4.9 margin.
- UD will be the second CAA opponent the Broncs will face this season.
- The Blue Hens and Broncs rivalry goes back to their first meeting on Jan. 4, 1970 when Delaware topped Rider 65-60 in Lawrenceville, N.J.
