NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware volleyball head coach Kimberly Lambert announced the addition of assistant coach Gabriella Ardila to her staff ahead of the 2023 season.
"I am beyond excited to welcome Gabriella to the Blue Hen family," said Lambert. "She is driven, has a great passion for the game and will be bringing in a fresh perspective to our program. I can't wait for her to get started as we continue to take our program to new heights."
Ardila comes to Newark after spending one season as the director of volleyball operations at Grand Canyon University, a program that made its first postseason appearance in the National Invitational Volleyball Championship and finished the year posting an 18-11 overall record.
"I am thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to represent the University of Delaware and assist in the continued growth of the volleyball program, "said Ardila. "I am excited to be here and to get started working with coach Lambert, coach McLaughlin and the team."
Prior to Grand Canyon, Ardila spent a campaign at Brown University serving in the capacity of volunteer assistant coach. During her time in Providence, Ardila assisted the 2021 Ivy League Coach of the Year Ahen Kim with the organization and execution of daily practice along with the logistics for travel. The program won its first Ivy League championship since 2001 and its first NCAA Tournament berth since 1998.
Ardila held the role of head coach at MGA Volleyball Club in Hanover, Mass., where she coached a national team each year featuring players from various age groups and oversaw skill-specific summer camps. Ardila also served as a coach for two years (2019-21) at Wellesley High School in Massachusetts.
Ardila spent some time at Hofstra University as a member of the Pride's volleyball team (2015-16) before transferring to Stonehill College. She graduated in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in History and was a member of the Skyhawks volleyball team.
