Baseball Falls at Stetson

Stetson opened the scoring early on a sac fly in the bottom of the first. The Hatters added three more runs in the second following a fielding error.
Carter Welch relieved Bryce Greenly with one out in the second and threw 2.2 scoreless innings before giving up a solo shot to left to make it 5-0.
Eric Ludman brought some energy off the bench with a pinch-hit single to move Andrew Amato to third base in the top of the seventh. The next batter, Aidan Kane, put the Blue & Gold on the board with a sac fly to center field.
Stetson loaded the bases the next two innings, followed by a three-run home run by Christian Pregent to extend the Hatters' lead to 14.
In the top of the ninth, the Hens placed runners on the corners with two outs for Gabe Dermott, who sent a double down the left-field line and cut the lead down to 15-3.
Greenly and Joey Loynd each recorded two hits, and Delaware employed five different pitchers, including Kevin Williams, for his first collegiate appearance.
The Blue Hens look to take the series tomorrow with Chris Grome on the mound for his second start of the season. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
