Men's Lacrosse Travels to Hofstra for Conference Matchup

NEWARK, Del. – Delaware men's lacrosse travels to Hempstead, N.Y. for a Colonial Athletic Association game against Hofstra on Saturday, March 25 at 3 p.m.
SCOUTING DELAWARE
The Blue Hens return to Delaware Stadium for a CAA game against Hampton on Saturday, April 1 at noon. It will be the first of two straight home games for the Blue Hens.
SCOUTING DELAWARE
- The Blue Hens enter Saturday's contest with a 5-3 overall record and a 1-0 record in the CAA. They are coming off a loss to No. 9/10/16 Johns Hopkins 12-10.
- Tye Kurtz enters the weekend tied as the nation's leading scorer with 32 goals, and 46 points. He's second in the country averaging 5.75 points per game.
- Kurtz ranks third all-time in program history in goals, with 154, and points, with 240. He needs 9 goals to pass Curtis Dickson for the most goals in a career, and 11 points to pass Anthony DiMarzio for the most points in a career.
- JP Ward enters Saturday's contest tied for eighth in the country in assists with 19, and tied for ninth in points with 37. He's accumulated 115 points in his Delaware career with 60 goals and 55 assists.
- Owen Grant is tied for sixth in the country in caused turnovers with 16, and seven in caused turnovers per game with 2.0. Grant and Joe Speers rank in the top five in the Colonial Athletic Association in caused turnovers. Grant is second the conference while Speers ranks third with 13 caused turnovers.
- Roland Hockenbery ranks second in the CAA in faceoffs won with 100, and fifth faceoff percentage at .526. The 100 faceoff wins are a career-high for Hockenbery.
- Hofstra enters Saturday's matchup with a 2-6 record overall and an 0-1 record in the CAA.
- The Pride are coming off a loss to CAA foe Fairfield 12-11. They are currently on a three-game losing streak with their last win coming against St. John's back on Feb. 25.
- Offensively, the Pride are led by John Madsen, who leads the team in goals with 16, points with 25, and tied for first in assists with nine.
- Defensively, Tom Ford leads the Pride in caused turnovers with 10.
- In goal, Mac Gates appeared and started in eight games. He boasts a 2-6 record, allowed 12.00 goals against average, and has a .484 save percentage.
