CHERRY HILL, N.J. – The Delaware rowing team completed its first day of competition at the Knecht Cup Regatta on Saturday.

Varsity Eights
Delaware took first in the second heat of the women's varsity eights race with a time of 6:58.54. It was the third fastest boat that competed in the women's varsity eights race c – Claire Higgins-Hart 8- Cornelia Meiss 7- Julia Rothstein 6- Ava Norton 5- Sloane Matthews 4- Ava Tine 3- Cara Nel 2- Delaney Denegar 1- Mary Quackenbush

In the second women's varsity eights race, Delaware finished in second at 7:17.15 c- Grace Phillips 8- Alexia Skor 7- Alli Burns 6- Hannah Towhey 5- McKenna Twitchell 4- Tynneqa Jefferies 3- Strome Buckle 2- Harriet Gaughan 1- Meaghan Leahy

The Blue Hens finished the day with a first place finish in the third heat of the Women's Varsity Eights race with a time of 6:40.05. This was the fastest time among the three heats c- Marytheresa Fitzpatrick 8- Alexis O'Keefe 7- Alexcia Bryant 6- Raquel Levit 5- Mariah Noll 4- McKenna Twitchell 3- Felica Marcozzi 2- Adriana Mazzella 1- Lydia Attanasio

All three boats will compete in the finals tomorrow.

Varsity Fours
The Blue Hens got the day started with a third-place finish in the second heat of the women's varsity fours with a time of 8:15.62 c- Amina Mai 4- Grace Visser 3- Madeline Climie 2- Maria Dupnock 1- Maddy Singh

In the first heat of the women's second varsity fours, the Blue Hens finished third with a time of 8:10.45 c- Olivia Kelley-Quigley 4- Megan Rogers 3- Rachel Henry 2- Julia Moller 1- Makana Steinmetz

In the second heat of the women's second varsity fours, Delaware also finished third with a time of 8:29.19 c- Kiah Beachler 4- Hanaa Abdallah 3- Elena Sherman 2- Grace Diehl 1- Olivia Hollingsworth

The final varsity fours boat to compete finished in third place of the fourth heat in the Women's Novice Fours with a time of 8:24.82 c- Kerry Mullins 4- Shannon Dolt 3- Rachel Tartal 2- Sarah Donaldson 1- Kailey Grimley

The four boats advanced to the finals of each respective race, which will take place tomorrow. The women's second varsity four finals starts at 8:58 a.m. and the women's varsity four finals starts at 9:06 a.m.
