Trio of Blue Hens Compete at ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships

FAIRFAX, Va. – The University of Delaware track & field team headed back to Virginia May 13-14 to compete at the ECAC Outdoor Championships, hosted by George Mason University. Head coach Kenyetta Iyevbele took her three Blue Hen athletes, Myrissa McFolling-Young, Sarah Daniels and Marie-Frederique Poulin, in hopes of improving their times/mark to qualify for the upcoming NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships First Rounds.
McFolling-Young opened the Blue Hens day on Saturday in the shot put, where she threw for 14.59m (fourth place).
Daniels found herself improving on her 3000m steeplechase time by running a new personal-best time of 10:34.74 to capture the gold medal, concluding Saturday's outing.
Poulin closed out the Blue Hens showing on Sunday in the 400m hurdles by claiming the gold medal with a time of 59.07.
The trio racked up 25 points for the Blue Hens to finish tied for 15th place.

The Blue Hens will return to action Thursday, May 25 to kick off the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships First Rounds in Jacksonville, Fla.
