Volleyball Announces 2023 Schedule

NEWARK, Del. - University of Delaware volleyball will play 26 matches, including 13 at the Bob Carpenter Center, as their 2023 regular season schedule was announced on Thursday.Â
Delaware begins the year hosting a tournament at home on August 25-27 against Loyola Maryland, Niagara, and Robert Morris. They will head to San Antonio, Texas to play Tarleton State, UTSA, and Lamar on Sept. 1 and 2. The Blue Hens host their final regular season tournament from Sept. 8-10 against Villanova and Rider.
CAA play starts off at home against conference newcomer Campbell on Sept. 16 and 17. The Blue Hens head to Towson on Sept. 22 and 24 for a rematch of the 2022 CAA Championship Game against the Tigers. Delaware wraps up September and begins October at home against The College of Charleston.Â
The Blue Hens will play a stretch of four consecutive road games starting on Oct. 7 and 8 against Northeastern. They'll travel to Stony Brook on Oct. 14 and 15 before returning home against Hofstra on Oct. 21 and 22. October finishes with a road trip to UNCW on the 28 and 29.Â
Delaware plays their final home games of the season on Nov. 4 and 5 against N.C. A&T. Their final games of the regular season come on the road against Elon on Nov. 11 and 12. They will also play an exhibition match prior to the start of the regular season on the road against Coppin State on August 19.Â
In the first year with head coach Kimberly Lambert at the helm, Delaware went 17-11 and 10-6 in conference play, advancing to the CAA Tournament Championship Game against Towson. Delaware put together a nine-match mid-season winning streak last year that saw them go 27-4 in sets, including taking 12 straight. Lani Mason had a memorable senior season, setting a program record for kills in a single-game with 38 and recorded her 1,000 career kill. She was the CAA Player of the Year and ECAC Offensive Player of the Year and was recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) as an East All-Region selection and All-American honorable mention. Ezgi Basaranlar also received All-CAA honors, being named to the conference's Second-Team.Â
Tickets are now available for all games in the 2023 season. Fans can purchase season ticket packages of six or more games, as well as individual game tickets.
