Women’s Golf Announces 2023-24 Schedule

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware Director of Golf Patty Post has announced the women's golf schedule for the upcoming 2023-24 season. The Blue & Gold will play in five tournaments this fall, including hosting the Lady Blue Hen Invitational, as well as five tournaments in the spring culminating in the 2024 CAA Championships.
The Blue Hens will open up a busy September at the Golfweek Fall Challenge in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. It is the second-consecutive season that UD has started the season at the tournament after a sixth-place finish last fall, highlighted by Christina Carroll tying for fourth overall at a 6-under par.
The following week, Delaware will travel to Wisconsin for the Badger Invitational from September 17-19. The Blue Hens made the same trip last year, placing ninth in a stacked field. The squad will head further west as they make the trip to the Bay Area for the Molly Collegiate Invitational, hosted by the University of California. The two-day tournament will be played September 25-26.
The Blue Hens will return to the course in late October as they host the Lady Blue Hen Invitational. They will play three rounds over two days at the Rehobeth Country Club in Rehobeth Beach.
The fall portion of the schedule will conclude October 27-29 when the team travels to the Bahamas for the White Sands Invitational, hosted by Santa Clara University.
Delaware will open the spring slate the same way it did last year, traveling south to the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational from February 23-25. The Blue Hens were runner-ups in last year's event behind a top-10 finish by Alisa Khokhlva.
A busy stretch in March begins when the Blue Hens make the trip to Tallahassee, Florida for the Florida State Match Up, a three-day tournament that will run from March 15-17. The Blue & Gold will then take on Navy in a one-day, match play event in Annapolis on March 23. Delaware will look to defend its crown after a hard-fought 4-3 win over the Midshipmen last spring behind individual victories from Khokhlva, Carroll and Lilia Henkel. Henkel would clinch the team win in a playoff.
Delaware will head down to North Carolina for consecutive tournaments, starting with the Pinetree Intercollegiate, hosted by Kennesaw State, March 25-26. The squad will look to build of its second-place finish in last year's event highlighted by top-10 finished from Khokhlva and Anna Kittelson. UD will return to the Tar Heel State April 6-7 for the Ironwood Invitational, hosted by ECU, which will serve as the final tuneup of the regular season.
The Blue Hens will travel to the 2024 CAA Championships, which will be held April 12-14 at The Clubs at St. James
Southport, North Carolina. The Blue Hens will look to break through this year after a second-place finish in 2023. The squad had two student-athletes place in the top 10, led by a runner-up finish by Kittleson, and placed four in the top 20.
