Murray Named CAA Co-Defensive Player Of The Week

RICHMOND, Va. - University of Delaware's Asia was named CAA Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, Sept. 4, 2023. Murray has now begun her collegiate player career with CAA weekly honors in consecutive weeks, as she earned Co-Rookie of the Week last week.
Murray starred for Delaware defensively during the Roadrunner Classic against Tarleton St., UTSA, and Lamar, helping Delaware to a 3-0 weekend and a 6-0 start to the season. Against Tarleton St., Murray had her first double-double with 10 kills and 12 blocks while hitting .421. Her 12 blocks were tied for the seventh most in a single-game in program history. Murray followed that up with seven more blocks against UTSA, and recorded five blocks against Lamar. Murray led the defense that held the opposition to a .165 hitting percentage for the weekend, highlighted by .093 against Lamar in a sweep on Saturday.
For the season Murray has 42 blocks, 1.83 per set, to go with 30 kills and a .303 hitting percentage. Nationally, she leads the country in total blocks and ranks second in blocks per set, trailing only Bekka Allick of Nebraska. Delaware is 6-0 for the first time since starting 10-0 in 2007. They finished that season 31-5 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Murray and the Blue Hens are back at home for their final non-conference tournament of the season when they play Villanova on Sept. 8 and Rider on Sept. 10.
Tickets are available for all games in the 2023 season. Fans can purchase season ticket packages of six or more games, as well as individual game tickets.
