Women's Basketball Welcomes Northeastern And Towson For A Weekend CAA Showdown

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's basketball team returns to the First State this weekend and will open with its final regular-season meeting with Northeastern Friday evening inside Bob Carpenter Center. Tipoff on Friday is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be featured as part of FloSports' Live-To-Social initiative. The game will be streamed on the FloHoops YouTube channel, Twitter/X account and Facebook page free of charge for viewers and will be broadcast on FloHoops.
After Friday evening's matchup against the Huskies, Delaware remain in Newark and will welcome Towson for its first meeting of two Sunday afternoon. Opening tip is scheduled for 2 p.m. and will also be broadcast simultaneously on NBC Philadelphia and FloHoops.

- The last time out for the Blue Hens was last Sunday, Jan. 21, at North Carolina A&T. Delaware suffered another heartbreaking 65-62 setback to the Aggies, snapping a two-game winning streak against them.
- Grace Sundback had a career afternoon leading the Blue Hens with 13 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals.
- Klarke Sconiers followed with 12 points, four rebounds, one block and one steal.
- Rebecca Demeke chipped in with 11 points, four rebounds and two steals from off the bench.

- Tara Cousins ranks third in field goal percentage (43.2), fourth in three-point attempts (110), fifth in three-pointers made (37), sixth in three-pointers per game (2.31) and ninth in three-point percentage (33.6).
- Chloe Wilson ranks fourth in free throws made (70) and free throws attempted (91) and ninth in free throw percentage (76.9).
- Sconiers ranks fifth in blocks (23) and sixth in blocks per game (1.35) while Sydney Boone ranks sixth in steals per game (1.82).

- Delaware's woes continued as they couldn't overcome the double-digit deficit and fell 73-66 to the Huskies, splitting the regular season matchup.
- Ande'a Cherisier led the Blue Hens with a career-best 14 points, with three rebounds, two blocks, and two steals off the bench.
- Wilson followed with 13 points, four rebounds and two steals while Darrionna Howard contributed 11 points and five rebounds off the pine.

- Towson, the 2023 CAA tournament finalist was selected as the favorite to win the conference championship with Kylie Kornegay-Lucas being selected as the Preseason Player of the Year while earning a spot on the first team. Quinzia Fulmore also landed on the preseason honorable mention.
vs. Northeastern
- This will serve as the 67th all-time meeting, 60th meeting in conference play and the second time head coaches Sarah Jenkins and Priscilla Edwards-Llyod will be meeting since taking the reigns of their respective programs.
- The Blue Hens hold the 48-18 all-time record while sporting a 24-4 mark in Newark.
- The Blue & Gold have won nine of the last 10 meetings with the Huskies.
- Delaware and Northeastern met earlier in the month and opened CAA play against one another.
- The Blue Hens walked away the 86-73 road win behind Wilson's double-double performance. The Freeport, N.Y. native finished with a season-best 21 points to go with 10 rebounds to post her third double-double on the season, 14th of her career.
- Sydney Boone followed with 16 points and three steals while Michelle Ojo returned triumphantly with 15 points off the bench.
- The last time Delaware and Northeastern met in Newark was last season, where the Blue Hens captured the 77-67 home win.

- This will be the 89th time in program history Delaware and Towson will duke it out against one another with the Blue Hens holding the 62-26 record, 53-19 CAA record and a 32-11 mark inside Bob Carpenter Center.
- Delaware has loss the last two meetings to the Tigers but have won six of the last 10 matchups.
- This will also be head coaches Jenkins and Laura Harper third time facing one another since taking over their respective programs.
- The last time Delaware and Towson met inside Bob Carpenter center, the Tigers captured the narrow 69-66 victory. The Blue Hens were paced by Mays-Prince's 12 and Ojo's 10 points off the pine.
- Delaware's last time victorious in Newark against Towson was during the 2020-21 season, claiming the dominating 86-55 home win.
