HENS HIGHLIGHTS
- Christian Ray finished with 12 rebounds for his seventh double-digit rebounding effort on the year. He fell two points shy of his second-consecutive double-double.
- Jyáre Davis tallied 18 points for his fifth-straight game at 15+.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ray continued to have the hot hand from Thursday as the 6-6 guard tallied five of UD's first 11 points. The Hens and Tigers battled back-and-forth through the first nine minutes of action, but Towson held a 15-11 lead by the second TV timeout of the first. Towson went on a 6-0 run over a three-minute span and took advantage of a UD cold spell to go ahead 25-18. After an almost six-minute scoring drought, Davis sparked the offense with three-straight buckets, including a fast-break dunk to get the Hens back within a possession at 27-24 with 2:10 left. Towson ended the half with a quick 7-2 burst, with all seven points coming from Christian May for a 34-26 lead.
- In the second, defense reigned supreme as the Tigers held the Hens without a field goal for over eight minutes. Following the drought, it was deja vu as Davis ignited the UD offense with three-straight buckets, followed by a field goal from Jalun Trent to make it a 57-52 contest with 3:20 to play. Over the final three minutes, Towson held a 10-4 advantage to pull away.
GAME NOTES
- UD was outrebounded 44-31. Towson's 15 offensive boards helped create 12 second chance points compared to only one for the Blue & Gold.
- Delaware finished with its lowest field-goal percentage of the season at 39.1 percent, going 18-for-46.
- Towson created 14 points off 14 UD turnovers.
