BROOKLINE, Mass. - The University of Delaware men's soccer team fought an emotional battle against Northeastern on Saturday afternoon. However, the Huskies left their home pitch winners with a final score of 6-0.
The Hens now post an overall record of 7-5-2Â and CAA record of 2-4 as they head into their second-to-last regular season match. Northeastern's records now stand at 3-4-7 and 1-3-2.
ON THE RECORD - "Losing Jan and TJ early in the game obviously changes the entire complexion of the game," head coach Tommy McMenemy said. "We struggled to adjust to those losses, and credit to Northeastern, they exploited those areas with their direct play. With that said, we were second best in almost every category, and the story can best be told by them out-fouling us 14-3. I think that illustrates just how poor our press was and how much on the front foot they were by comparison. We have to collectively own the ugly result, and get back to work for Friday."
