Burns Tabbed CAA Co-Defensive Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Delaware goalkeeper Kyla Burns was named the Coastal Athletic Association's co-defensive player of the week, the league announced on Monday.
Burns has continued a stellar season, where she collected 10 saves and allowed one goal en route to a two-point weekend against Towson and Northeastern. Burns played a key role in the Blue Hens securing a spot in the CAA Tournament for the first time since 2019.
For Burns, this is her second co-defensive player of the week of her career, dating back to last season where she received the award on Oct. 9, 2023. Burns is also the second Blue Hen to receive the accolade this season, along with Constanze Viehmann back on Sept. 30.
Over her career, Burns has collected 123 saves, including 77 this season. Her career save percentage of .854 is currently the best in program history.
Burns and the Blue Hens travel to West Long Branch, N.J. to take on Hofstra in the CAA Quarterfinals on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 4 p.m.
