10/3/2024 8:35:00 PM | Women's Soccer
NEWARK, Del. – A goal with under two minutes to play in regulation earns a dramatic 1-0 won for the University of Delaware women's soccer team against Campbell on Thursday at Grant Stadium.
With the win, the Blue Hens overall record improves to 6-4-2 and remain unbeaten in Coastal Athletic Association play at 4-0. They also extend their win streak to five.
ON THE RECORD
"We've talked a lot about the details and it was going to come down to that in this game. It's good to be on the right side of that and have created our own luck. We're not getting to high just focused on each game as it comes. The home crowed was fantastic tonight. Thank you to all of the fans that cheered us on. We hope to see you back at Grant next week," Lawrence said.
"I'm really proud of the way we played and got the win," Olivia Bley said. "The energy from everyone on the team and in the stands truly helped us push to the final moments where it mattered most. The coaches gave us a lot of guidance leading up to the game, but at the end of the day, it was us out there, sticking to our principles, and defending our home field. Of course, there is still so much we can learn and grow on, but I'm really happy with our start to conference play."
